Darood-e-Ibrahim

“O Allah, send Your mercy (ṣalāh) upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent mercy upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.”

Allah says in the Qur’an: “Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace.” [Qur’an 33:56]

The Ṣaḥābah (companions) asked the Prophet “O Messenger of Allah, we know how to greet you (say salām), but how should we send blessings upon you?”He  then taught them Darood-e-Ibrahim. [Bukhārī, Muslim]

Every time a Muslim sends ṣalāh (darood) upon the Prophet Allah sends 10 blessings upon that person.
It brings a person closer to the Prophet  on the Day of Judgment.
It is a means for sins to be forgiven and duʿās (supplications) to be accepted.
